As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to evolve, we would like to provide you with an update on what we are doing to ensure we continue to support you, our customer.

Our strategy remains clear, to orientate our teams and supply partners around the needs of our customers. We continue to reflect the changing landscape, as a result of the Coronavirus, within our policies and procedures and in line the with UK Government and Public Health England guidelines.

The wellbeing of our teams remains paramount, in line with Government guidelines and our own HSEQ policies we have put in place extended measures to protect our people. Whilst visiting your premises we would ask that your teams kindly allow our people to conduct their tasks in accordance with Government guidelines, ensuring distance between individuals is maintained.

Our Part in Supporting Your Operations and UK Industry

Under Government definitions, the services we supply are considered critical to keeping industry working. We are extremely proud of our teams and the work they are carrying out to support both our customers and industry during this period, they are truly appreciated.

Monk and Crane support businesses across all UK market sectors, inclusive of healthcare, manufacturing, food production and distribution as well as transportation. Many of our customers have been identified as ‘Critical’ by the Government.

That said, we are acutely aware that as a result of the Governments advice, many of our customers are either reducing trading and production volumes or opting to close for a short period of time. Our commitment is to remain open and support those customers who need us, however we will logically be aligning our retained workforce with the reduced demand.

Job Retention Scheme

It is widely publicised that the UK Government has launched the “Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.” As a vehicle to align our resource levels with customer demand, Monks and Crane have opted to implement the scheme, to safeguard the roles of our valued team members and ensure that when this pandemic is over, we are well placed to deliver business as usual.

Our Strategy to Continue Supporting Our Customers

The strategy we have implemented is fairly simple, we have maintained all core functions within our business and only reduced the size of volume dependent support teams. These will be rightsized directly in line with demand. Therefore, for our customers that remain open, we can continue to support you. For customers that are either reducing trade and production volumes or opting to close, as you reopen or increase trade and production, we can match your levels of demand.

As a business, we are doing everything we can to support our customers during this unprecedented time. Your key relationship manager and daily support team contact details should remain unchanged, if a colleague is away from the business, their out of office will direct you to an appropriate team member who can support you.
